A real life drawing

Here is a drawing I did a while back, I have never done a drawing like this before. I had to see the final image in my head before I drew it. That is a hard muscle to flex. Wow I really love what I do for a living!

A pirate story

Here is an illustration I had to do in two days. It was really fun to do, It came to a point where I didn't even want to finish, I wanted to keep putting in more and more detail. This illustration is for an upcoming Children's book I just finished. It should be ready to be purchased by Christmas.

Also I wanted to show the process behind this illustration, its crazy how a simple drawing can have so much life after color has been added. I did several of drawings that wouldn't work because if the boat structure, once I left out some of the boats parts, it just didn't feel authentic.

I love the subtle color in this illustration, its really gray but I love this color palette.

Chicken$hit!

Here is something I started working on, I plan to make a giant painting of this drawing. Im dying to get started on this piece, I have had this image in my mind for weeks now. Glad it turned out the way I had imagined it.

These are the first pages on my new sketchbook, I have never really had a sketchbook for finished ideas, I have always used sketchbooks for thumbnails. I thought it was about time I produce a sketchbook with good drawings. Enjoy...

Horray for the Union!

Here is a wonderful project Im currently working on. It is a privalage to work for an organization that is actually trying to do good out there. The Union does good things that will never end up in the newspapers! This one will help out those who need assistance in sending their kids to school.

Here is a project I have been working on for some months now. We are close to wrapping this project up. It will be ready to buy around September or so. Feels good to have finished a project of this caliber, its really is a dream come true. I will post more soon.

Spotlight

This was a fun design to do! Dont ever underestimate how great some references can do for an illustration. For the young cats looking at this think of it this way, if it worked for the masters then it can definitely work for me.

Evildeer

I was tired of seeing deer's always looking so fragile, so I flipped the look and gave it an edge on this design. Its great when directors give you a freedom to just go nuts on a design.
