Sammy Redo

Im working on revamping an old character I did years ago. Im having so much fun doing this, its great to revisit old work. I remember what I was thinking when I did these lines, where my state of mind was at. The only way I can describe it its like when you smell a scent and it brings you back or a song that makes you reminisce.

Breakin homage

This is an homage to my childhood. Break-dancing was the hottest dance craze in the eighties. There was a time when everybody and their moma's where break dancing. No joke, my mom encouraged it, asking me to bust a move when visitors came to our house. In my mind I was blowing people away!

Dork!

This was done for a online radio station, this was a reject logo so I decided to play with the logo a little. I feel I've gotten into a funk with colors, so the last two entries I've been just going balls to the walls with color. Its a bit disturbing, and loud but its good to do something completly different than your use to.

yes, yes y'all

Needles to say influenced by hip hop.

Work In Progress

This is the beginning of a new project. The name is still in progress. I want to make a comic strip based on my childhood experiences as a Latino kid growing up in an not the best environment. This is a parrot, someone in the hood always has birds. More to come, hopefully a new comic strip every week.

Billboard

This is in a illustration I recently finished. This is supposed to be on the corner of Arroyo blvd. and Del Mar blvd by the end of August. This was a fun project, its one of those illustrations that happened effortless. No thinking just doing. No DUI's in space!

Nouveau Beings

Here are two big paintings I just finished. I have been looking at Mucha for answers lately. I love the direction its going, very Art nouveau.

New Puppy Gallery

This is currently hanging at New Puppy Gallery. Its a great gallery in sort of a hidden part of town. It's amazing what some buildings can contain. It was a great show! With allot of different kinds of diverse artist, I strongly recommend it.

And if your into knife throwing and seeing art, than again who isnt! Come check out this show. Its this Saturday May 23rd.

Neo Meze

This is artwork I am doing for Neo Meze. There are allot of bars in Pasadena and many charge the same amount. But the difference between a good bar and shity bar is the music, environment and the kind of people that go there. Neo Meze is always dope. This is the kind of place you want to take a first date or meet a group of friends, it looks classy without looking bourgeoisie.

Where the Wild Things Are

This is a tribute to the immortal Maurice Sendak. As a kid San Rafael Elementary didnt have its own library, so we would take field trips to the library. I remember I would always run to the same books. Its crazy how things seemed bigger when I was a kid. These monsters seemed more angrier and gigantic. I drove by the school the other day and the school looked like it had shrunk, right along with the attached memories.

Neo Meze

These are new paintings I did for a friend that owns a bar in Old Town Pasadena. Its called NEO MEZE a great bar with good food. If you ever in town, try to catch Dj. Ruin on turntables and Kenny Hudson on conga drums. Its an eclectic sound picture party music with the soulful of drums. These paintings are the largest Ive ever worked. And after working this big I don't really want to go back.
